TECHnotOXIC, the artistic and research project by Christian Fogarolli, promoted by Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, has been awarded by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture as one of the winners of the 14th edition of the Italian Council for Contemporary Art, under Area 1 – International Commissioning of Artworks.

The project aims to raise awareness among contemporary art audiences about the issue of toxic dependencies related to the overuse of new digital technologies and their impact on mental and social health.

Through field investigations, the research analyzes and artistically interprets the phenomenon of digital addiction, culminating in the creation of a body of artworks that visually explore the relationship between the human body and technology, highlighting the alienating and dehumanizing effects of extreme digitalization.

The project will be presented in 2026/27 through exhibitions at the Futurium Museum in Berlin, the Boghossian Foundation in Brussels, and Museion in Bolzano, which will also become the permanent home of the artworks.

The entire project will be documented in a final editorial publication within the ICONE series.
